In line with Mansoura National University’s commitment to providing effective community service, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a recreational day for orphan girls from the Social Care Institution at Nile Club, in celebration of Orphan’s Day. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, President of the University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ramadan El-Sheikh, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and organized by Prof. Dr. Amal Fathy Soliman, Coordinator of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee. This initiative comes as part of the faculty’s efforts to promote sustainable community development among students and to foster a culture of volunteerism through real-life experiences that enhance their sense of social responsibility. During the event, students actively engaged with the girls through games and interactive activities, and provided them with gifts, sweets, and school supplies, creating a joyful and friendly atmosphere. |
The initiative had a clear positive impact, offering psychological and social support to the girls. Students expressed their appreciation for the experience, which strengthened their sense of empathy and belonging, while the girls and supervisors expressed their happiness with this thoughtful gesture. Such initiatives highlight the importance of strengthening human connections and spreading the spirit of volunteerism, reflecting the faculty’s role in developing students’ sense of social responsibility.
