In a meaningful initiative reflecting the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to community engagement, the Faculty at Mansoura National University organized a visit to “Nasim El-Hayat” Elderly Home. The activity was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, President of the University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ramadan El-Sheikh, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and organized by Prof. Dr. Amal Fathy Soliman, Coordinator of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee. The visit aimed to promote the values of sustainable community development among students and to foster a culture of volunteerism through real-life experiences that enhance empathy and social responsibility. During the visit, students actively engaged with the residents, listening to their stories and life experiences, and participating in simple activities that created a warm and friendly atmosphere. They also provided meals to all residents, bringing joy and comfort to them. |
This initiative had a positive impact on both students and residents. Students expressed their appreciation for the experience, which strengthened their sense of compassion and community belonging, while the elderly residents showed great happiness and appreciation for this thoughtful gesture.
